At Selfhelp, we have a long standing reputation for providing quality cultural experiences like Sunday concerts, visits to local galleries and museums and an annual Celebrating the Arts event to introduce residents, Selfhelp members and guests to new artistic endeavors throughout the Chicago area. Many residents have developed their artistic talents while living at the home and Selfhelp boasts a very impressive art gallery where residents’ works are permanently displayed. Whether your talent lies in stained glass, pottery, or watercolors, we’ll provide new opportunities to express your creativity and you’ll have a chance to meet others with similar talents and interests.

This is the best way to describe life at Selfhelp. Traditional celebrations during the high holidays and Shabbat services are highlights of life at Selfhelp and friends and relatives are always welcome to join us for these events. Delicious kosher meals incorporate the freshest ingredients and our baked goods are primarily homemade. Honoring our Jewish heritage and maintaining an environment where people feel comfortable and well cared for are all hallmarks of Selfhelp.
